Booking Procedure
Pre Paid Members have 6 days advance booking and Centre Card Members have 4 days advance booking. You can only book a class 6 days prior to the next class, ie, if you wish to book for next weeks Spin class on Tuesday, you can only book from the Wednesday of this week.
Non Members
Will need to call the Centre and book and pay in advance over the phone. Admission charge of £2.00 apply.
Online Bookings
Remember if you are a pre-paid member, you can book online. You just need your card number to register.
Exercise mats for your classes will be provided but please ensure you clean them before use with the cleaning equipment provided.
You are encouraged to bring your own mat if you have one.
Class Descriptions
LES MILLS CLASSES
These classes have a set exercise routine for each track of music, each track/routine last for approximately 4 minutes. Each release last for 3 months and then new music and routines are introduced. Every class will be delivered in the same way no matter which instructor teaches; we offer the following Les Mills Licenced Classes:
- BODY PUMP – This class is perfect for anyone looking get lean, toned, and fit without adding bulk. Light to moderate weights with lots of repetition. Suitable for all abilities.
- BODY ATTACK – This is a high energy class with moves for total beginners to total addicts. It combines athletic movements like running, lunging, and jumping with strength exercises such as push ups and squats. All moves can be adapted to suit your ability.
- BODY COMBAT – This is a high-energy martial-arts inspired workout which is non-contact. You will not need to master any complex moves. This class will have you punching and kicking your way to fitness. Suitable for all abilities.
- BODY BALANCE – This class is an energising blend of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates that is good for the mind as well as the body. You will strengthen your physique and calm the mind. Suits all abilities.
FREESTYLE CLASSES
These classes are choreographed by the instructor; they will differ from instructor to instructor and will very week by week including music choice. They are easily adaptable to suit all ages and abilities. The instructor will personalise the classes.
- BODY CONDITIONING – This a traditional freestyle class targeting the whole body. This class suits all abilities. It consists of combining easy to follow light cardio and strengthening exercises. Light weights are sometimes used.
- LEGS, TUMS, AND BUMS – This is a traditional class which targets the thighs, buttocks and abdominal. It is suitable for all abilities. A short cardio warm up and then a combination of standing work for legs and buttocks, finishing with floor work for legs, bums, and tums.
- BODY MOVES – This combines low impact dance fitness for light cardio, strength exercises, stretch and relaxation to work the whole body and reduce stress. Very suitable for the more mature or those new to exercise.
- READY2MOVE – THROUGH THE DECADES – This class is a low impact gentle but effective functional exercise class with music from the past. It suits those who prefer a lower intensity exercise class which will benefit physically and mentally. Great for the more mature or those new to exercise.
- GOLD – A Zumba type class. Our Gold class is a milder, lower impact version of Zumba. It suits all abilities, no dance experience necessary. Music is a combination of Latin and international music, plus some hits from the past.
- CIRCUIT CLASS – No coordination required or choreography skills. Moving from one station to another, normally 45 seconds on one station 10-15 second break before moving onto the next station. Involving all muscle groups. Uses resistance training and aerobic activity. Designed to be easy to follow and target weight loss, muscle toning and cardio fitness. Suits all and is easily adaptable.
- HIIT CLASS – Short burst of High Intensity exercises around 45 seconds, followed by a 10 second rest. This aims to get the heart pumping and muscles burning. It is a 30-minute class and can be easily adapted to suit all.
- BOOT CAMP – This class is fun and challenging, although intense, is suitable for novice exercisers and fitness enthusiasts. Individuals will work at their own personal level. Based on Military style fitness programmes & circuit training.
- BOX FIT – This class is a high-intensity cardio workout based on boxing techniques using gloves and pad word. Suitable for all, this is a non-contact workout, improving your agility strength and overall fitness.
- SPIN – High energy workout involving stationary bikes. Participants will be led by a series for exercise through different situations encountered during a real outdoor cycling experience. Normally a 45-minute class. Adaptable to suit all.
- POWER HOOP – a FUN AND EFFECTIVE WAY TO TONE YOUR CORE. This 20-minute express class takes you from a beginner’s level to being able to move into routines.
- ACTIVE 50 – A fun and social class which will help you to keep fit using restorative and functional exercises. Try out new activities such as Badminton, Pickleball and table tennis, after a great morning or afternoon activities, why not treat yourself to a coffee and chat with newfound friends.
- Dance Fit – A fitness class with a dance element using easy to follow routines to up to date chart music. It is a fun, high intensity, all over body workout incorporating dance moves as well as traditional aerobic exercise.
HOLISTIC CLASSES
These classes are for the mind, body, and soul, as well as gaining strength and muscle tone.
- YOGA – Uses slow movements and stretching. Increases flexibility, balance and relieves stress. Each instructor brings their own personality to deliver a class unique to themselves.
- PILATES – Different to Yoga. This is designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Targeting deep postural muscles, improving posture and flexibility.
- STRETCH AND RESTORE – Designed to release deep layers of tension stored in the body, improves muscle strength, and flexibility. Slow flow of postures to encourage the body to release tension. Suitable for all levels especially for those who prefer a slower paced class.
- YOGALATES – Is a combination of the gentle stretch of yoga and the core-building strength and posture awareness of Pilates. It can be adapted to the needs of people regardless of their body type. It helps tone core muscles, helps to strengthen, and stretch, improve flexibility, and feel energised after each session.
- QI GONG – Is a system of co-ordinated body postures, movement, breathing & meditation used for the purpose of health & spirituality. Decreases stress & anxiety, increases energy & stamina, and improves flexibility. Suitable for all.
