Claires Tips

Hi members, here's my little page in which i'll be putting up ideas and facts about nutrition and fitness and anything else that gets requested, if you have any questions then please send them through and i'll do my best to answer them.  : )

Here's just a few tips for keeping that calorie intake as low as possible!!

  • Never go food shopping hungry!    This is one of the most effective ways to avoidunwanted junk and snacks finding their way into your shopping trolley.
  • Never keep snack foods in your household!    This is a logical fact, if the product isn't there, then it can't be consumed! Simples!
  • Eat on small plates!    We are extremely visual creatures and ofen decide how large an object is by comparing it to another object. The amount of food we put on our plate is compared to the size of the plate.
  • Substitute foods instead of eliminating them!    Try out different reduced fat brands and items and who knows, you may find something that you like even better than the original. the key is making sustainable changes.
  • Stay focused on weight loss and not 'getting thin'!    Change your mind set to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will increase body fat.
  • Eating slowly can lead to weight loss!    Eating slowly is one method that can help take off the pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy and savor every tasty morsel.

         Always remember..........

  • Calories are not bad, we do still need them. Nor is food our enemy although certain types of food do us more harm than good.
  • Cutting out fizzy drinks completely can save you gaining 360 calories or more each day.
  • Muscle weighs 3 times more than fat.

If you have any tips yourself then please feel free to drop me an email and i'll post them on here for everyone.
