On the weekend of 08 April 2011 the
YMCA National Conference
“Why Global”
was held at the East Midlands Conference Centre Nottingham University Campus, 45 YMCA’s from England represented by 300+ attendees
Lynda Dale- C.E.O, Theresa Stirk – Trustee and member of the Maidstone YMCA Board of Management, Angelo Moutinho (15) and Mathew Roberts (14) attended this event, taking part in workshops and seminars discussing YMCA’s contribution to a changing world.
Johan Vilhelm – Secretary General and Romulo Dantes - Executive Secretary for Youth Empowerment were guests from the World Alliance of YMCA’s giving master classes on “Youth Engagement in the Global Movement and “ Responding to the Global Economic Challenge”.

Hoop Springs Eternal- World Council in Hong Kong 2010 voted to support a major YMCA profile enhancing and fundraising event to be attempted in 125 countries it will be known as “The YMCA Global Hoop Shoot” the world record challenge will be held in August 2012.What “Why Global” could mean for me – What strategic partnerships are currently happening and what is being developed within the YMCA.
